Verbs of Motion: group I and II.

However I haver a rather clear idea about the use of Verbs of Motion of I and II groups, I find every tour a problem between two rules in two different grammars.
    1) As in every grammar I find: Verbs of II group are used in

    повторяющееся действие (a repeted action)
    каждый день (год, месяц)
    каждую неделю
    чaсто, обычно, иногда, редко
    я люблю, мне нравится

    Я каждый день хожу́ в школу / на работу

Ненаправленное движение (motion without a direction)
    Папа хóдит по комнате

    2) But in “Грамматика Русского языка в иллустpациях”
    a) If the motion is repeated regularly in one direction group I is used.
    ...
    3. Если речь идёт о регулярно повторяющемся движении в одном направлении
Я каждый день идý на работу пешком
    ...
    b) If the motion is repeated regularly in different directions group II is used

    3. Если говорится о движении как о чём-то обычном, повторяющемся в разных направлениях (туда и обратно).
Мать хóдит каждое утро на работу и вóдит дочку в детский сад.

So in few words: Я каждый день хожу́ в школу / на работу or
Я каждый день идý на работу ?
    Thank you.

    Я каждый день хожу́ в школу / на работу
    Это правильный вариант.
