Я должен
был сказать, если можете, вы
бы давали (приводили), пожалуйста, примеры людей, которы
е исполь
зуют эти слова и фразы? Например преступники, интернетные нерды, дети, старики и старушки, или просто нормальные люди в нормальном, неформальном разговоре.
I should have mentioned, if possible could you please provide examples of the type of person who would use these words and phrases? For example criminals, internet geeks, children, old people, or simply ordinary people in everyday informal conversation.
Here's some more English slang for you:
He made a pass at her but she shot him down. - to make a pass at (smb.) = to attempt to seduce somebody
- to shoot (smb.) down = to reject somebody. Not necessarily to do with romance - for instance you could also say "I suggested that the company should make more use of information technology, but my Luddite boss shot me down." (A "Luddite" is someone who opposes technological change - synonymous with "technophobe".)
Both of these phrases are fairly neutral and could be used in both England and the US, but they would probably tend to be mostly used by younger people.
