    Suffixes of Russian surnames

    HI, I have a few questions about the suffixes of Russian surnames.

    I. Endings suitable for -ев I'm aware of:
    1. -й (Николай -> Николаев)
    2. -ь (медведь -> Медведев)
    What are the others?
    Is -ёв an alternative ‎form of -ев?

    II. Endings suitable for -ин I'm aware of:
    1. -а (борода -> Бородин)
    2. -ь (сталь -> Сталин)
    What are the others?
    Is -ын an alternative ‎form of -ин?

    III. Common suffixes of Russian surnames I'm aware of: -ов, -ев, -ин, -ский, -ный.
    What are the others?
    Are there statistics showing the distribution of these suffixes in Russian surnames and the percentages thereof?

    ёв и ев: Слепнёв и Слепнев - оба варианта существуют - но это разные фамилии.
    "ёв" будет в том случае, когда исходное слово заканчивается на мягкую согласную например "пень" - "Пнёв"

    на "ын" не смог придумать хороший вариант

    Честно говоря, я, как носитель, не задумываюсь (не вдаюсь в подробности) по поводу суффиксов в фамилиях. Для меня фамилия имеет цельное значение.

    Например:
    Карпин, Карпец, Карпов, Карпик, Карпич

    в отличие от словообразования имен не собственных
    один карп, но много карпов (множественное число родительный падеж)
    один столб - много столбов
    в этих ситуациях можно применять правила и аналогии

    Другое дело, если Вы специально занимаетесь темой "возникновение фамилий".
    Тогда Вам сюда ... https://www.analizfamilii.ru/Karpov/proishozhdenie.html
    или сюда (где кстати приведена статистика по суффиксам) ... Суффиксы русских фамилий XVII–XVIII веков
    Думаю, что тема интересна узкому кругу людей - специалистов по фамилиям.

    It's the same suffix, the former is stressed, the latter not.

    yes, the idea is the same, but the preceding consonants may change и to ы

    for example, Солженицын, Синицын (the ц consonant)

    -ский
    very often suggests Jewish or Polish origin though
