So, I was trying to translate the sentence, or rather part thereof, " I was shocked," looked through my dictionary, but to no avail. I realized then, that shocked was the past participle of to shock, and realized why I had not found it. But, when I found the verb, I had NO clue how to put it in the past participle. Could someone please tell me what to do in this case, because I have never so much as TOUCHED one of these in Russian as of yet!! Спасибо большое!!
The direct translation according a new mode is: "я был шокирован", but personally I hate this expression. I'd rather say: "я был поражён" or "меня поразило" or "я был (приятно/неприятно) удивлён" or "меня (приятно/неприятно) удивило".

у меня был шок - the consequensces of the schock are important
