If I say:
I spent an hour pressing the "a" key on my keyboard.
Did I spend the hour trying to press the key, and only managed to once, or did I simply sit there pressing the key over and over.
Russian has like, multiple different ways to express the difference, doesn't it?
Ran across this example, and realized there is no good way to say it in English:
У тебя айфон! - You have an Iphone!
У тебя нет айфона! - You don't have an Iphone! (Only means there's a lack of Iphone)
У тебя не айфон! - You have... Something... that isn't an Iphone...
