How to say "this work is by" or "this is by"

I'd like to translate the text "this work is by Joshua" into Russian. I am just learning grammar and sentence structure and my vocab is pretty limited, so I pieced together this.

    Эта работа Джошуа
I was wondering how you might announce credit to somebody in Russian for their work, to say "this is by ---" or "this work is by ---" or close to it, or if there is an entirely different way to go about writing it.

Correction of my posts in Russian appreciated.

very popular method is: name of your work + your name.
    Like this: Евгений Онегин. А.С.Пушкин

Or if you need to say "this work is by Джошуа". I think you need to write just your name.

And you can use this: name of you work + автор + your name.
Example = Евгений Онегин. Автор А.С. Пушкин.

I was taught that it could be written in two ways:

This is a story of Pushkin's. --- Name takes Genitive case
    Это рассказ Пушкина.

This is a story, which was written by Pushkin --- Name takes instrumental
Это рассказ, который был написан Пушкином.

oh! This is two different ways.
    1. When you need to put your name on your work.
    2. When you need just translating of "this work is by..."

    I wrote about 1.

Better to say труд, произведение, книга (if we talk about books). Your variant is totally correct.

Thanks for the suggestions and alternatives to how to add credit or refer to it. Though I didn't really want to know how to sign off my own work.

Oh so, what I wrote was right?

I was trying to refer to a picture that was drawn. I wanted to speak in third person about who made it. I am aware of работа and труд as words so far, but I wasn't sure which was better to use in this case. I guess I better start reading those grammar books I have now haha.

Correction of my posts in Russian appreciated.

    Это - работа Джошуа.
Эта работа была написана (or нарисована, or сделана) Джошуа.
написана is used when talking about drawings of recognized painters while нарисована can be used when talking about children's drawing.

If we talf about pictures, работа is good, while труд is probably impossible.Работа Джошуа is anyway correct.

Вы шутите? Если да, то хотя бы смайлики рисуйте, а то люди ведь правда так подумают. Джошуа не склоняется. Ы после гласных быть не может.

Джошуа is indeclinable as well as many other non-Russian names when used in Russian (Джо, Леонардо etc.).
