I'd like to translate the text "this work is by Joshua" into Russian. I am just learning grammar and sentence structure and my vocab is pretty limited, so I pieced together this.
I was wondering how you might announce credit to somebody in Russian for their work, to say "this is by ---" or "this work is by ---" or close to it, or if there is an entirely different way to go about writing it.Quote:

Or if you need to say "this work is by Джошуа". I think you need to write just your name.
And you can use this: name of you work + автор + your name.
Example = Евгений Онегин. Автор А.С. Пушкин.
I was taught that it could be written in two ways:
This is a story of Pushkin's. --- Name takes Genitive case
Это рассказ Пушкина.
This is a story, which was written by Pushkin --- Name takes instrumental
Это рассказ, который был написан Пушкином.
oh! This is two different ways.
1. When you need to put your name on your work.
2. When you need just translating of "this work is by..."

Эта работа была написана (or нарисована, or сделана) Джошуа.
написана is used when talking about drawings of recognized painters while нарисована can be used when talking about children's drawing.

If we talf about pictures, работа is good, while труд is probably impossible.Работа Джошуа is anyway correct.Quote:

Джошуа is indeclinable as well as many other non-Russian names when used in Russian (Джо, Леонардо etc.).Quote:
