Thread: Difference Between These Word Pairs

Hello,

Could you tell what is the difference in meaning between the below mentioned pair of words? Thanks alot.

наблюдать /смотреть
прочесть / прочитать

наблюдать /смотреть - observe/ watch or see

прочесть / прочитать - according to one dictionary the basic meaning 'read' is the same for both of the words, i.e. in this basic meaning they are synonyms.

First pair means "to observe/to watch"
The second I cannot translate but I don't see much of a difference even in Russian
