    can anyone tell me the difference

    hi all.Can anyone tell me the difference between Мочь and Уметь
    As far as i know Мочь means to be able to do sth,and Уметь is used for a skill that is gained in course of time.I want you to explain me the difference in details please.

    1) Обладать способностью, силами что-л. делать; быть в состоянии.
    2) Иметь возможность делать что-л.

    УМЕТЬ
    Обладать умением делать что-л. благодаря знаниям или навыкам к чему-л.

    The difference is roughly as between english "can" ("мочь") и "be able to" ("уметь").
