What is the correct formula for sentences like this?

(Intended meaning: Another word for center is midpoint.)
Should the first word be nominative and the second accusative, both nominative, or what?
Is there a better formula to use for this type of sentence? Are there more common alternatives?

As usual, "to be" in the Present is null.

Слово "центр" можно заменить словом "середина". (Хотя я бы не стал менять )

'Центр' еще называют 'серединой'.
