Agreement of adjectives with noun case

It has been many decades since my Russian classes in college. I remember from my four years of high school Latin, that adjectives qualifying a noun, all agreed in case; i.e. if the noun was a direct object, then all the adjectives attached to the object would have accusative endings. I seem to remember that things might be a little different in Russian. Could someone elaborate with examples?

Also, how about adverbs modifying a verb?

    Thanks very much.

    Hey ctarychek,

You are absolutely right about adjectives changing to reflect the case of the noun they modify. For example:

    Я вижу девушку
    Я вижу красивую девушку

I can't think of any "little differences" like you mentioned. The only one that comes to mind is that you must be careful with a few nouns that act like they have two genders, for example папа.

    Она любит своего папу.

The noun itself is grammatically feminine, but adjectives are declined as if it were masculine.

As for adverbs modifying a verb, nope, they stay the same regardless.

Agreement of adjectives with noun case

Whoops! I should have written :

"i.e. if the noun WERE a direct object, "

    subjunctive mood and all that. My English grammar isn't much better than my Russian grammar ;=}}

I suck at the English subjunctive too. In fact, I even made a thread about it a couple days ago.

What is the rule governing the endings.

    Я вижу красивую девушку

I probably would have written (and been horribly incorrect)

    Я вижу красиву девушку

That's just plain memorization; -ая forms become -ую in accusative.
