Думаю, для меня бы это было смешно и странно (потому что слово все-таки довольно устаревшее), но совсем не оскорбительно. (Конечно, всегда можно сказать с такой интонацией, чтобы было оскорбительно )

В целом нет. Но оно создает атмосферу 18-го или 19-го века. Обидеться могут те кто предпочитают чтобы их называли товарищ или те кто хочет быть либо барыней, либо сударыней

How about this: "...is often used to express mockery (or simply "is used mockingly"), so you have to be cautious with this word."

IMHO:
You might be able to say "you have to be at least cautious" but I would only use "you have to be at least x" where x is physical measurment.
"you have to be at least 20 years old" (or older)
"you have to be at least 170 cm tall" (or taller)
"you have to be at least 60kg in weight" (or heavier)
и.т.д.

"you have to be at least cautious" (or more cautious) - hmmmmm, maaaybeee.
