Thank you for your input . This is a great monologue with which any aging actor.. ,or human being ( man?) in general , can identify with.
The translation I have seen in Englifh leaves this sentence out:
Морские волны разбиваются о камни, но о волны ее кудрей разбивались утесы, льдины, снеговые глыбы!
my attempt at translating it:
The sea waves smash on the rocks, but her curls smashed the rocks, ice blocks, snow blocks!

It does not really work in English, especially after the litany of concrete, heart felt remembered compliments he enuciates preceding it:
"
Изящна, стройна, как тополь, молода, невинна, чиста и пламенна, как летняя заря! Под взглядом ее голубых глаз, при ее чудной улыбке, не могла бы устоять никакая ночь. " and then... ".Морские волны разбиваются о камни, но о волны ее кудрей разбивались утесы, льдины, снеговые глыбы!"
And then he goes back less metaphorical again:
" Помню, стою я перед нею, как сейчас перед тобою... Прекрасна была в этот раз, как никогда, глядела на меня так, что не забыть мне этого взгляда даже в могиле.."


Maybe he was thinking about supergirl .

I will see what they did in the Spanish translation or the German for that matter. In the english one I saw, they just left it out.
I am still trying to understand the metaphor.
