I am really getting extremely annoyed by the amount of sappy love trash being asked to be translated to and from Russian.

1. These sort of things are supposed to be private and not broadcast for the whole internet to see.
2. Why are people saying such intimate things to people who don't speak a common language with them.

Anyone else feel the same? Can you do something about it?

I back you 100% in your crusade against intimate translations. I NEVER EVER want to see somewhat ask us to translate "I want to cling to you like your underwear" again. EVER.

Honestly, it doesn't really bother me - it amuses me. But, if it pisses people off (and according to the poll it does), then maybe petition for a sub-forum of "Romantic Translations" or something similar.

On another note, I'm not sure why everybody gets upset about these posts. If people don't like them, then why do each of them get answered? At any rate, just because somebody asks for a Russian translation for something intimate doesn't necessarily mean that their partner doesn't speak their native tongue. Many native Russian speakers speak English.

What's the point in sending your significant other a message in a language they don't understand. The recipient would just ask the sender what it meant if they spoke English.

It doesn't piss me off but still - why people just can't spend a minute or two to search through the forum to find dozens of translations they need.
It's just boring to translate 'I love you' over and over again.
To Romeos: At least try to learn something, not just repeat the answers from forum, improvise. THAT would impress a girl more than just YA LYUBLYU TEBYA with a terrible accent.

I agree to some degree with TATY. It is sickening to me that guys would stoop so low to actually say shit like that in order to get what they want from a woman. This type of behaviour is reprehensible and a threat to the stability of the man/woman relationship in general. Guys like that should be taken aside and had the facts of life explained to them with a good "knock up-side of the head".

If these symptoms of male wussiness continue go unchecked pretty soon women everywhere will be playing men one fool against the other!.......no, wait....that's already happening! Or even worse.......expecting all of us to act that way!

All that aside, I think it is OK if these pussy-whipped suck-ups want post here as it gives us all a chance to redicule them and thus keep the board interesting.

I honsetly don't care. If I feel like it I will translate, if not I will ignore. Hey, all language practice is good practice! I mean, it was pretty challenging coming up with a Russian version of "I want to be your underwear"

I agree that it's an issue to make a little forum (like Russian idioms and such) where everyone can write such phrases. Whatever they'd like to say to any woman/man they like. Better if they tried to write both sides - in Russian and in English/and in their native language. Such forum will serve as a sourse of various phrases for everyone who'd like to ask them.

Do you think that will solve the issue? We already have "Daily progress" and "Grammar & Vocabulary" forums where people post idioms and other vocabulary words and phrases. However they prefer to ask for translations in the "Translate now" forum instead. Perhaps because their sentences are not cookie-cutter phrases (or at least they think so).

On the second thought, it might be a good idea to create a new forum for idioms or even a whole section of forums grouped by a topic. What does everybody think? Do we need a new section or forum?

But at least we could tell all them: guys, we wrote so many different tender phrases and words in this forum! Isn't it enough for your lazy imagination?

I propose to create a special thematic section where people ask for certain help, we answer and these answers go to the special store where others can find their translation. This store should ot be repliable, only editable. If a user doesn't find something he needs there, he asks to translate it, and the store gets richer in such a way...
