Дословно:

Я буду помнить тебя, мой друг, до того дня когда мы снова встретимся.

Менее дословно, но красивше (имхо, конечно) :

Я буду помнить тебя, мой друг. И придет день, когда мы снова встретимся.

Мой перевод очень неверный?

Очень, к сожалению. Your version translates back to:

While I will not remember you, day that we will again meet, my friend.

I hand it to you for the effort, though

Well the word for until is До, so that might be a start.

I looked up До and actually it has several meanings depending on context.

Here is one of the first phrases I learned that I used in real life. I hailed down a taxi and said the following:
Мне нужна доехать до аэропорт. Сколько стоит?
I need to get to the airport. How much is it?

Сколько стоит доехать до аэропорта?
