New Jersy Raiders

There is no equivalent Russian sound for the long "i" as in Knights.
The closest sound I can think of is the long "e" sound as in beats.
Knights
Нитс (pronounced "Neets")
Black Knights
Блак Нитс (pronounced "Black Neets")

I just made a mistake. I was looking for a single Russian letter that resembled the long "i" sound in English and I could not find one.Originally Posted by Indra
I forgot that "ай" sounds similar to the long "i".
How would you transliterate "White Knights" in Russian?

The w sound is mostly transliterated like "у" but sometimes it transliterates like "в": Watt - Уатт/Ватт, Wattson - Ватсон/Уотсон.

I think he's asking for those words to be translated into Russian but written in Latin script, not how to transcribe the English words into Cyrillic.
In that case:
Raiders - Всадники - Vsadniki (when you say it, "v" sounds like "f", accent on a)
New Jersey Raiders - Всадники из Нью Джерси - Vsadniki iz New Jersey
Knights - Рыцари - Rytsaree (accent on y)
Black Knights - Чёрные рыцари - Chorn(bl)ye Rytsaree
How about that?
thanks alot.
It's times like this when we miss Belorussian, which has exactly what we need - a normal Ў !
