    Russian Dialog help.

So in my russian class we were told to make up a dialog among two people at a park, who live in the same apartment building. My two characters in this dialog are илья who things сергей looks familiar. So all I need is to make sure my dialog is written properly with the grammer. Keep in mind I'm in my second year of russian class, so I'm not a fluent speaker as of now.

If you can't understand what I'm trying to say, I can give you my english version as well, but for now this seems like alot.

First of all floor =

    (urban univercity center???)

(What did you want to say in English? Literally it sounds like "The number of my wife works over/above the clinic")

If you can't understand what I'm trying to say, I can give you my english version as well, but for now this seems like alot.
Yes, that would help because I'm not quite sure what did you try to say about univercity centre and his wife's number.

Excuse me, do you live in apartment four, on the third floor?

Yes I live there. What is your name?

илья-My name is илья петровский. What is your name?

сергей-My name is сергей михайлович. Do you live in apartment four?

илья-Yes I do. I live on the third floor. I have seen you walking on the floor.

OH! Do you work around here?

илья-Yes I work at the university downtown. Do you work around here?

No. My wife works at the clinic.

илья-Your family lives in the apartment?

сергей-Yes. My son демитри and алексанлра wife. Do you have family
    living with you?

илья-No, my family lives far away. It was very nice to meet you.

Nice to meet you. Goodbye.

Goodbye.

I hope this helps. Thank you.

    1. Why does илья петровский give his first and last name, whereas сергей михайлович gives his first name and patronymic.

    2. It's Дмитрий

    3. работать над + instrumental = to work on, e.g. He is working on a project. When you are talking about where someone works you use в or на + prepositional.

    4. пол = floor, as in the opposite of ceiling. It doesn't mean a story of a building. The word you want is [b]эт

Not necessary. As you can drop the word "number" in English, you can do exactly the same in Russian. When a road policeman asks me my adress for protocol, I never say "дом номер такой-то, квартира номер такая-то", I usually say "дом ХХ, квартира ХХХ". :P
Please, correct my mistakes, except for the cases I misspell something on purpose!

Is it university campus located in downtown? I counld not think out something better than "я работаю в центральном кампусе/[университетском] городке". If such expression ( university downtown ) is common in russian language there ( where dialog took place ), there should be some common name in russian for it. I can't recall anything like university downtown in Russia, if there are two different campuses, one of them will be called 'старое здание ( университета ) ". Otherwise, it rather will be transliterated like "empire state building".

    How about this version?

In the US, "downtown" = business center, and "uptown"= residential areas away from "downtown." Every city in America has "downtown" and "uptown."

...By the early 1830s, the term uptown was used for the desirable new residential district away from the business center.
