    phrase translation and cheburshka summary?

    can someone please translate the phrase "do you think he's cute?" in russian, please? (transliteration and cyrillic would be great). me and my russian friend are going out to eat with a male friend of mine and I want to be able to talk about him behind his back without him understanding.

    also, there's this eppy of the show Cheburshka (Чебурашка), which I'm sure you all know about.. and I'd really just like to have some sense of what's going on. haha. so if someone could just explain maybe..? that'd be so great.

    any help would be great you guys. thank you so much (:

    I think you should say:

    Ты думаешь, что он красив?

    Ty dumaesh, shto on krasiv?

    Лучше сказать симпатичный или милый. Всё-таки там cute, а не handsome/beautiful.

    Cute cheburashka story. It's too long to translate, but here are a couple of things for the noobies out there.

    Чебурашка идёт в школу
    Cheburashka goes to school

    азропорт = airport

    ремонт = repair
    Я взял палку и нож, мелки и бумагу и направился к холмам.

    Yeah, that Cheburashka episode always left me wanting for more... I mean what happens next??? I think this was the last episode they made does anybody know why?

    Also, since I am sure rainbow didn't understand what Ramil said:

    Don't say:
    ты думаешь, что он красив?
    Ty dumaesh, shto on krasiv?
    Unless you say are thinking handsome/beautiful. If you want "cute" use
    ты думаешь, что он милый?
    Ty dumasesh, shto on miliy?
    Hei, rett norsken min og du er død.
    I am a notourriouse misspeller. Be easy on me.
    Пожалуйста! Исправляйте мои глупые ошибки (но оставьте умные)!

    IMHO, phrases kinda "ты думаешь, что он красив?" or "ты думаешь, что он милый?" don't suit the situation if you want to ask your friend about your male friend. Russians don't say so. These can be appropriate if you e.g. don't like the male friend of your friend. And than you ask her with doubt and astonishment: "ты (действительно) думаешь, что он милый?" - "do you (really) think he's cute?"

    But for your case it is much better, IMHO, to use the following:

    "Как он тебе нравится? Правда ведь он милый?" - "Kak on tibe nravitsa? Pravda ved' on miliy?"

    "Он симпатичный! Правда?" - "On simpatichniy! Pravda?"

    "Он милый! Скажи?" - "On miliy! Skazhi?"

    "Он красивый! Ты не находишь?" - "On krasiviy! Ty ne nahodish?"
    Could you please occasionally correct my stupid errors!
    Korrigiert bitte ab und zu meine dummen Fehler!

    I'd boil it down to 2 versions:

    "А он симпатичный! Правда?" - "uh on simpatichniy! Pravda?"

    "Правда он симпатяшка?" - "Pravda on simpatyashka?"

    Милый and красивый would not be equivalet to "cute" here.
    The highlighted vowels are stressed.
    The second one seems to be real hard for beginners (I was trying to get one American guy say "симпатяшка" for a couple of days, but gave up eventually )
