    from my soul

    Hello,

Need help translating the phrase "from my soul to yours." This is for an inscription on a wedding band. Here is a picture of what looks like highly stylized cyrillic letters - but I don't know. http://www.dvbny.com/05_detail/NYL002R.htm

I have figured out that "от мой души" is "from my soul" but if someone could help w/ the above picture, I would be so thankful. Does it look like that is what the ring says?? Also, how would one say "from my soul to yours?"

    Thank you!
    Shelly

    Re: from my soul

    от моей души
Looks like some kind of obsolete alpahabet, I don't know if anyone can read that.
    Looks nice though.

    Re: from my soul

    Looks like

    |О|Т|Д|У|Ш|И|:

ОТ ДУШИ with what look like capital I's and a little symbol between words.

There is no "to yours" -- not enough space on the ring!

Also with body parts (etc.) Russian does not usually use the possessive. For example, My head hurts. is just Болит голова.

    Re: from my soul

Thank you both for your replies!

I did not realize that the soul is a body part, ha ha! But I do vaguely remember that rule from my Russian class days...

So, what would one say to achieve the same effect on a wedding band? "From soul to soul?"

    Thanks again!
