Thread: Hockey Translations

Hi,
I'm working on a multilingual online product catalog for a hockey equipment company and I'm having a little trouble with some Russian translations. The company provided me with translations for most of the products, but a few were left out. I've been able to track down most of the missing words, but I'm stumped by a couple. I would just look them up with an online translator, but since it's hockey terminology, I'm not sure the translation would be literal. Here are the words I'm after:

PANTS - Not just any old pants, but hockey pants, like these:


PANT COVER - This is basically a shell worn over the pants pictured above.

PROTECTIVE GEAR - I need a general word that covers the entire category of hockey pads, including: shoulder pads, elbow pads, shin guards, etc.

HELMET CAGE - I have the word for "helmet" but I need the word for the actual cage/face mask, like this:


I think that is all I need for now. Thanks in advance for your help!

PANT COVER - покрытие для шортов (cannot tell exactly)
PROTECTIVE GEAR - щитки
HELMET CAGE - маска шлема

I've come up with a couple more:

SHAFTS (The long straight part of a hockey stick that you hold on to)

BLADES (The curved end of a hockey stick that touches the ice and the puck)

SKATES - I actually have this word but it in lower case - I need all capital letters

Please make all translations in all CAPITAL letters. I don't know how to type Russian characters and the design for the website I'm working on requires all caps.

Also, please be sure to make the words plural (SHAFTS instead of shafts).
