Thread: Help me construct my letter?

Below is what I wrote, trying to get my neice to understand my bad russian...actually this is my 2nd letter. I won't show you the first, it was really bad...

If you wall help me, it will additionally teach me many words and phrases...everytime I get help, it really helps me learn.

Anyway, here is what I'm trying to communicate with her, which is that, I want her to record 5 minutes of very simple conversation and then e-mail it to me. I'm just going to release what she sends me as a podcast.

So if you can think of the simplest way you would word such a letter, in addition to correcting my mistakes....you all would rule! thanks

Я знаю чтобы ты поняла мой английский лучше, но упрямого старик я.

Хорошо. Я начну.

1. Напиши простую историю.
2. говориш медленно - Record. 5 минут
3. отправишь

That is sort of what I would say, although I don't know if you would say мой русский плохой, maybe you need a noun in there...

научу, me thinks?

Depends, does he mean to learn or to start? I thought he said he was going to start whatever they talked about in the previous letter...

That is what I thought. But what is he starting? Hasn't he already started?

That is sort of what I would say, although I don't know if you would say мой русский плохой, maybe you need a noun in there...

мой русский очень плохой is not that bad but я говорю по-русски очень плохо would be better.

I think he made a recording for her as en example. If so, then я попробовал сделать (or записать) пример.

I would change the word order here

Я знаю, что мой английский ты бы поняла лучше, но я упрямый старик.

2. сделай 5-минутную запись - говори медленно

thanks for correcting my russian...I appreciate it, because only in this way do I finally learn how to do it right...it seems if I just study, I don't remember, but if I make a bunch of mistakes, I remember next time...
