    cannot find this word in any of my books...

    puzzled over this one...seen in a news ad about border skirmishes in Chechnya....Ставропольский....Спа сибо, johnrj

    There is such a unit on political map of Russia, its name is Stavropol Territory. In russian it sounds like "Ставропольский край". It borders exectly on Chechnya in the South. As far as I know there are 7 Krai in Russia in all.
