Thread: "Turkish Gambit" (movie)

Strangely, nobody is discussing this movie here.

According to latest info, it collected $17 mln already! The over-hyped "Night Watch" got "only" $15 mln. And "Gambit" is much better movie, IMHO.

Well, it's very difficult to capture what is the present of the viewer watching. So, in that respect, I suppose all are historical...

But it was all a bad joke (very bad)...

"Gambit" is both historical and detective movie... probably, more detective than historical. That's for what I like B. Akunin.

I am curious, is there was a soundtrack for this movie? Someone sent me a song on MSN, she said its popular in Russia right now, and that its from the movie. But it doesnt have a title and i am not good enough in Russian to listen to the words and see if i can figure the title out.

I just wanted to see if i could find the lyrics but so far no luck......


Any info is greatly appreciated.

I watched the movie recently, in some scenes it felt like I was present there myself. That was fantastic!

Вчера с друзьями решили посмотреть по DVD "Турецкий гамбит".
Смотрели минут десять.
После этого решили, что лучше бы они снимали клипы для MTV.

Btw, just saw the movie Papa last night. I think it has the same actor from turkish gambit (havent seen it). Was decent until they got 20 min from the end and just decided to kind of abruptly end it with a ww2 scene. Before then was pretty good though.
