Well, I am divorced already. And I can tell you for sure, that when we got married, I nad no money so far. Really. I was quite new to US, not established at all. Anyhow "success" can be a part of the atractive elements for a woman. Having money helps a lot, but it does not mean that women would follow you just for money. And you better avoid those who after you because you got money. If you loose mone (shit happens) she may leave you, devastating you even more, while some other women may stay with you and work together through the problem.

i really dont see anything wrong with what VM's saying. he likes to be single and have sex with lots of women, he's not cheating on a wife or destroying anyone's life. so whats the problem?

From reading this thread, it looks to me like VM is somewhat disgusted that not all guys behave like him and thinks a man isn't a real man unless he adopts this lifestyle. I do see something wrong with that attitude.

Unfortunately there is a great deal of truth in what he says though. There are many beautiful women who are attracted to total jerks. I wish it wasn't true but I've seen it time and time again. Definitely, if all you're interested in is no strings attached sex with lots of women, then being nice is probably not the smartest way to go about it. I think it's a different situation if you're interested in a serious relationship and are not so cynical and twisted that you not only no longer believe in love but actually feel contempt for the idea itself.

Bottom line though, is that niceness has nothing to do with sexual attraction on its own, if looked at in isolation from any affectionate or loving feelings. And being excessively nice, too eager to please, and overly attentive will most likely decrease rather than increase your sexual appeal. I don't think buying presents is a problem unless the person doing it feels insecure and is desperately trying to impress someone. If it's just done naturally out of the goodness of your heart then I think it should be fine.


...and yes VM, I'm yet another male in need of 'de-wussification', we must be strangely drawn to this place

Why there are so many "wusses" on this board who know how to treat women properly? What do we have in common here? We are mainly people with education, have a thirst for knowledge and a desire to learn Russian culture. And as far as I have seen, treating women respectfully is very much the Russian culture.

I never said treat women disrespectfully. I said don't be a wusspot. Maybe our definitions of "respectfully" differ somewhat.

Maybe they do... treating a woman as a slut doesn't really enter my book as a respectful way to treat her...
