    Red Army Choir

    In my quest for learning Russian, I am trying to get used to listening to Russian language by listening to music.

    After trying Meladze, now I have switched to the Red Army Choir (strange coupling, isn't it?).

    Wow! What a beautiful choir!!!

    I have found the Soviet anthem, the anthem of the Russian navy, Kalinka, Katiusha, and Oci ciornie.

    Do you know where I can find other songs of the Red Army Choir?

    By the way, does the choir still exist? Or it ceased to be after the collapse of the USSR?

    Use search with "singer=chorus" and "singer=choir".

    There are several choruses (and Red Army Choir im. Alexandrova of course).

    One more interesting link (but it has only Russian version):

    “Музей истории советской массовой песни”

    Historical museum of the Soviet mass song.
    This site also has great collection (songs and speechs). It is devoted to so-called Soviet mass song (Soviet music culture of 1930’s – 1950’s). All records are dated of 1930’s – 1950’s only.

    ===================================

    Popular Russian and Soviet military songs (in English).

    http://rkkaww2.armchairgeneral.com/multimedia.htm

    There are popular Russian and Soviet military songs on the site which describes the actions of the Russia and Soviet troops in Pre revolutionary time, in the civil war and WWII. All the songs have Russian original text and English translation (see Field “Details: Comments, Translation, Transliterated text) and link to download.

    There are many records of
    A.V. Alexandrov's holding the Order of Red Banner Ensemble of the Red Army.
