That happens to me too, I mean, when texts in the foreign language you learn (and love) somehow seem more powerful, meaningful and expressive than their equivalents in your own language Can it be called "language fascination"?

That's true, but being more specific... in this case reading it in Russian, if I imagine it's Deb that had written all that in Russian, it's like watching a great evolutionary journey.... "this is how weak my Russian was then and this is how eloquent and flawless it is now!" Like, went through this rollercoaster of a journey and getting through it not only with great memories, but with a great and lasting personal achivement.

Of course Deb's Russian is pretty strong these days, no doubt, even if it's may be not strong enough for professional translation (which can be a challenge even for natives!). I admit I'm very curious to see how Deb would have written it in her own Russian, out of linguistic/educational/student's interest...even if she'd asked for grammar help occasionally and even though it would've probably taken more time. Of course, reading Inego's beautiful translation work is, no doubt, damn awesome. Challenging and beautiful in of itself.
