Thread: New Year - I am sick

California is one of the worst states to get a DUI in... I lost my license for 3 months, had a work permit for three more months, had to do 80 hours of community service in a ditch on the side of the road, take 6 months of classes (including AA once a week during that time), pay for the classes, and on top of over $3000 in fines (not to mention insurance and SR-22)

I'd say on top of the insurance and fines, including missed wages I could have earned for working instead, it cost me over $15,000. Oh yeah, and I hit a parked car, so I had to pay for that and my own car. Approximately $30,000 total.

DUI = Not Fantom Approved!

Which is why I never celebrate that horrible holiday anymore!!!

Well, it taught you a lesson. It served its purpose. DON'T DRINK AND DRIVE! That is to all you kids out there.

It just sucks that in the U.S. you have to drive if you want to go out and have some fun I miss Norway!!!

whatever and whenever I celebrate anything I use to reserve some cash for taxi, and to hand my carkeys and papers to a friend and ask him not to give them back to me until next day. Helps

I used to live in the state of Wyoming. I it a good state ........except for the wind! In Wyoming they are sensble enought to let you drink and drive. It's only unlawful to be legally intoxicated and drive. It was about 35 miles down a bumpy dirt road to get to a paved road in order drive into town. That's where I realized some of those states that don't allow you to dink and drive weren't so stupid because i found that it is very hard to drive on a bumpy road while operating the clutch and changing gears while trying to hold onto a bottle of beer. See? So, drinking and driving do not mix!

Remind me to buy you one of those beer dispensers you can wear on your head. And to never go to Wyoming.

Oh, don't talk to me about New Year and drinking, people. I was in Rome! In Transtevere ristarante where nobody spoke any English. And that was, I believe, the fifth day of our drinking spree. And one very vibrant and quite temperamental Roman lady involved me into the quite authentic folk dance and at the very end she accidentally threw me on the floor - probably very ancient and very much marble... And after than, according to the photos, we went to the Plazzia Navona and rode a horsey! On the merry-go-round! With the balloons!.. My God, that Russians can enjoy themselves.
