I saw this on Wikipedia

"According to the section 4 of Russian Anthem Law, all state-owned TV and radio channels must broadcast the national anthem twice a day."

Do they actually do that. Wikipedia can be contributed to by anyone who wants really so it can be inaccurate sometimes.

I think it is true. I had always heard this anthem like song sanged by a man and one version sanged by a woman. This song is always put on the radio at least two times.
I had always wondered about it, and now I know. Thanks.

Just a little friendly correction: In that form, you would use:

I heard it sung by a man.
They had sung a song

Otherwise, you would always use "sang" for the past.
I sang a song
He sang a song
We sang a song

but never "sanged"

(I think?!?! Trying to learn Russian has me questioning the rules of English now instead of just saying what sounds correct!!!)

I think it is:
Pluperfect = I sang, you sang
Perfect = I have sung

e.g. the past participle is sung

Sanged can't be used.

And I wondered why Russkoe Radio played the national anthem all the time...

State-owned TV do not broadcast the national anthem daily ("according to time-schedule"). They do it only on the occasion of proper events.

I can say the same about radio channels but of course I do not listen to all of them (Russkoe Radio and others).

There are lots of crazy laws like that all over the place. In my town, it's illegal to make more than 200 doughnuts in a day. I think in london, taxis are still supposted to carry a bail of hay with them at all times. Not that any of these laws are really enforced though, someone just forgot to take them off the books a hundred years ago.

Not just "2 times a day": at 6:00 and at midnight localtime:

Такой старый закон, а не видно, чтобы на практике исполнялся.
По крайней мере, в 24:00 часа на телевидении точно ничего не играет.

FL, "государственными телевизионными и радиовещательными компаниями". Я редко смотрю телевизор, но мне кажется что по каналу Россия гимн точно идёт.

По "России" точно в 24:00 гимн не идет: там документальные фильмы в это время показывают, они всегда за полночь перетекают.
За 24:00 я могу поручиться.

Ну что ж, нарушение законодательства. Советую подать конституционную жалобу.

А телеканал Россия - круглосуточный? Наверное они транслируют гимн "по окончании вещания". Если так то всё по закону.

Хммм, до того момента как я слазила по этой ссылке я была АБСОЛЮТНО уверена, что "Россия" вещает до глубокой ночи, но не круглосуточно... Вещание начинается и заканчивается гимном, я это видела своими глазами (по крайней мере, пару месяцев назад). А ночью там вроде такие э-ээ... разноцветные полосочки :P - то есть нет никакого вещания... Странно...


Еще я слышала гимн по "Радио России", в 6 утра (в начале вещания) и в полночь.

Как раз примерно пару месяцев назад ОРТ, "Россия", и, кажется, НТВ перешли на круглосуточный режим вещания.

And not playing the anthem would disrespect the country? Maybe they just wanted everyone to learn the new words quickly :P
