A "heads up" message from DDT

Just thought i would let you know that I am in A small desert town Nevada. I have been offered a job in my old profession as a Buckaroo ( that's a Nevada cowboy for all of you who have not been here at MR long enough to know my background) for a few weeks or months. I have not agreed to it yet but if i do agree I will not be around very often since there may not be any internet access unless i go into town.

That is why I have not been on lately and probably won't be able to respond to this thread for a while.

So either i will be back on in a few days when i get back to civilization or I will check in when I can.
PS I think I will be the only buckaroo with a laptop in Nevada

Thanks for not flaming me too bad and good luck to all.

I go now to have a big think about what I will decide to do.......

Oohhhh. This is a perfect opportunity for me to use the newest phrase in my vocabulary: "Nevada is dryer than a dingo's donger!" There. Now it's out of my system. Good luck to you -- and remember: if you hear the phrase "I wish I knew how to quit you," you've probably spent too much time out in the desert.
Заранее благодарю всех за исправление ошибок в моём русском.

Let us know if the cattle in Nevada have a different accent than those in Oregon.

Hi! I'm back. Looks like you won't be able to get rid of me after all. Sorry!

By the way, we don't call them (motherless calves) "doggies", in Buckaroo country they are called "Leppies".

I wonder what the Russian cowboys call them!!!

Угу причём вот что интересно - хрен найдёшь изображение именно русского пастуха из деревни. Кто угодно, кроме наших.

I am certain that, at least, there are some excellent Russian Horsemen somewhere. Perhaps you can find a photo?

And what about Rodeos? Are there any Russian rodeos?

That is me with the branding iron.

Have you ever branded a person before? Or a cat?

Funny you should ask! I branded myself.

A long time ago I once made a fire branded myself on the upper left arm. It was supposed to be a pretty design but it turned out to be just an ugly scar. It did not hurt that bad.

The hardest part is forcing yourself to hold the red hot iron to your skin.

You see!! The cows don't have it so bad....they don't have to hold the iron on their own hides.
