Thread: A Clockword Orange

The film is on the TV right now. It's quite interesting hearing them mispronouncing Russian words in a English accent.

So far, I've heard "Horrorshow", "droog", "mychik", "gloopy" and "ruka".

I couldn't work out why he kept saying "Gulliver" for head - I thought "what's that got to do with Gulliver's Travels by Johnathan Swift?"

Then of course, it dawned on me - голово!

Not forgetting bog, chelavek, dyevochka, malchik, and slovo.

i'm sure it was sumka. "Old bag" is an English expression for an old lady

We have "косметичка"(cosmetics bag) for girls in heavy make-up.

How about "старая кошёлка"? I'd say it's pretty close to the "old bag".
