I named myself after the famous pesticide DDT that was banned in USA many years ago. You see, I am like this pesticide because everyone thinks DDT is bad but it is really not so bad and was given a "bad rap" ..... Since DDT was banned, the mosquito born disease Malaria is on the rise and humans are again dying. And not only that, it is close to the initials in my name.
I had not heard of the rock band DDT until later! I think I will have to sue them!!!!!!!

Thanks for the comprehensive explanation! But I still believe that they chose such a name earlier then you! :P (Btw, if you didn't hear their songs, they are really good!)

Yes, both on 25 December and 7 January. My mother and I were born Russian Orthodox, but my father was born Lutheran in another country, so we have always celebrated both. The latter of the two is much more solemn, and the period between them was filled with a lot of joy because it held the New Year.

You've got to ask Yuriy Shevcuk, the leader of Russian rock band ДДТ. The band has a nation-wide famous song called very much like your last question - "Что такое осень"? Ever heard of this song? Ever listened to it?
