    Well, I'd like to try! But neither my hubby nor the cat would be happy if I went to Russia for a couple of months, so chances are slim....

    You were right the first time - there is no female version of this word, at least I never heard of it. (нелегалка? ). So you, more likely, used it properly (but I don't shure completly). I was confused by the gender of the word itself.
    P.S. Unfortunatly I'm not so young already.

    I have never heard it in the US South, that's for sure...

    I've just searched for this expression on Google (to search for the exact phrase, I have included it in parentheses). Guess what? Only 2 hits!!!!
