У меня не было выбора. Я приехал, чтобы преподавать английский а потом они послали мне в Жезказган! Хотя город маленький, это хорошая ситуация для моего русского потому, что нужно говорить или по-русски или по-казахски везде, хочешь не хочешь. Время от времени я скучаю по местам, которые не такие же провинциальные по менталитету, как Жезказган (Караганда мне кажется весьма космополитическая :-)) но я не жалуюсь. Мне нравится учить язык и теперь я хочу продолжать мою учёбу русского языка после того, как я вернулся в США.Quote:

если is of course an obvious one. The исправить/поправить is a bit more subtle. You see Throbert, your version (исправить) while grammatically correct, has a different meaning (smth. like "fix me up"), while поправить has the intended meaning of "correct me (if I'm wrong)". Hope this helps.
I'm gonna hafta take exception with ya on this one, I aksed a friend of mine who happened to be Russian and he called bs on the distinction you just drew. To his mind, there ain't no difference in meaning whatsoever. And I concur with his opinion coz I also did some research of my own and looked both words up and they were used similarly.Quote:

Мой английский не идеален, но общаться на нём я вполне могу. Даже устно (= Русский язык в моей специальности (Public Relations) - один из профильных предметов, поэтому его я знаю очень хорошо (это помимо того факта, что русский для меня - родной язык).
