Thread: Beginner seeks patient Russian penfriend!

I've been learning Russian via the "Rosetta Stone" software for about four months. I can manage simple things like hello, goodbye, the man is wearing a coat, and so on, and of course I'm learning new words all the time.

I'd like one or more Russian penfriends who would like to write simple emails and who will correct the many mistakes I will make when I reply! If you are learning English, I'm happy to help you improve your English in return.

I do have Skype but I am *not* looking to audio or video chat for now, I don't know enough Russian. I would prefer emails (or even - gasp - real paper letters sent through the post!) as it takes me a while to read and write Russian while I'm looking up words, figuring out the right case and so on.

About me; I'm male, 43, married and live in Sydney, Australia. My main hobby is art (painting) but I'm also a fan of science fiction, electronic music and videogames. In short, I'm a middle-aged geek I have a website at L.P. Baker - Australian Artist and a Twitter account @lpbaker.

I don't have any preference for whether you are male, female, young, old -- all are welcome!

My email address starts with "russian", followed by the "@" sign, followed by lpbaker, and finally .com. Hopefully people understand that and spambots don't!
