    Catch Me If You Can

The film is quite well-known, so maybe someone remembers if the main hero's mother who's an original French speaks with a non-native accent? Well, I mean the actress, if she speaks with an accent. Her pronunciation confuses me a bit.

I can make a small fragment, actually... And put it on Youtube.

I cannot remember how she sounds in the film, but she is a French actress named Nathalie Baye:
[quote]To stay true to the part of Frank’s mother, Paula Abagnale, Spielberg was determined to cast a French actress. He enlisted the aid of a friend who just happened to be living in Paris at the time, director Brian De Palma. “I sent Brian the script and asked if he would help,” Spielberg says. “He did tests with different actresses, including Nathalie Baye, whom I knew from her work in the Fran

    Ken, I meant:
Maybe someone remembers if the main hero's mother (who's an original French) speaks with an accent.
    Is that incorrect?

So the actress is French, so she really must speak with an accent... Thank you.

What you wrote in bold print is correct, but the phrase in parentheses is incorrect. If I understand what you mean you could write:

Maybe someone remembers if the main hero's mother, whose original language is French, speaks with an accent.
    or
Does anyone remember if the main hero's mother, who's French, speaks with an accent?
    whose or who's?
Who's is a contraction of who is or who has: She's the one who's [not whose] coming to dinner next week. Who's [not Whose] got my pen? Whose means "of whom" or "of which" and indicates or asks about belonging: These are the children whose [not who's] father we saw yesterday. Whose [not Who's] coat is that?

So my mistake was the word "original"? I just though it was possible to say "I'm original Russian"; I think I saw that somewhere.. In forums.

Ah! It must be "an" what was a mistake! Erm.. Or not? I'm still confused.

No, your use of "an" before "original" was not a mistake. But "who's an original French" or "who's original French" are phrases that are unclear in meaning, because the listener expects that "French" is being used as an adjective rather than a noun in those constructions. So "who's an original French speaker" or "who's originally French speaking" have clearer meanings. "I'm original Russian" is also unclear for the same reasons.

"Who's an original Frenchwoman." Does it sound?

    I'd say

    "Who's originally French"

    "Who's a native French speaker"

    "Who is originally from France"

"Who's an original Frenchwoman." How does it sound?
No, that sounds wrong too. It makes "original" into a category of Frenchwoman, imlying that there are other kinds of Frenchwomen besides original ones.

But to answer the original question: I've seen the film and yes the character she plays does speak with a French accent.

Here's another line from this movie:
"During that time, I was also the chief resident pediatrician at a Georgia hospital and an assistant attorney general for the state of Louisiana."

I understand the sense of the whole sentence, but I can't get the grammar of the parts in bold. What is actually "chief resident pediatrician"? Is something an adjective here?
Why is it "assistant attorney general" and not "assistant of (the?) attorney general" ?

    Another question!
I also don't understand a club name in the movie: The New Rochelle Rotary Club. What could "Rotary" means here?? I know the translation, but the club name still doesn't make sense to me.

Название происходит из-за того, что раньше встречи участников проводились в помещениях их компаний попеременно (in rotation -> rotary)

    Ой, Тём, спасибо большое.

    Another question!
"Two little mice fell in a bucket of cream. The first mouse quickly gave up and drowned. The second mouse wouldn't quit. He struggled so hard that eventually he churned that cream into butter and crawled out. Gentlemen, as of this moment, I am that second mouse."

I don't understand the part in bold.

    And another one
(mother)-You're a better dancer than your father, Frankie.
    (Frankie)-You hear that, Daddy?
    (father)-Like fun.
(mother)-The girls don't know what they're in for.

I have no any idea what the last sentence could mean.
