    Punctuation in run-in lists

In Russian, one of the way to list something is as follows:

Гадюкинский район распологает богатейшими природными ресурсами: золото – 0.0000007 тонны, каменный уголь – 5 мешков, нефть – три ведра, самогон – 400 бидонов.

as you can see, it goes like this: item, dash, quantity, comma etc.

What are different ways to write a similar list in English?

Well, of course, one way would be "0.0000007 tons of gold, 5 sack of coal" etc., but what are other options? I am pretty sure I have seen a lot of lists like this, but can't recall the punctualtion.

Please remember, this must be a run-in list, i.e. not a vertically aligned one. Thanks

She said that I would need, 23 books, 14 guitars, two pencils, 7 bananas, 1/2 pound of gun powder, 1 parrot and a big brown paper bag.

Not sure about the comma after "need".
