"It's me did it" is correct?

I'd like to say "Это я сделал (это)". I'd like to accentuate that it was exactly me, who did that...

It was me who did it

It was I who did it (I think this is the proper grammaticaly correct way. Maybe)

But most people say: It was me who did it.

No, it isn't. "I'm the one who did it" is "normal" in speech, unless you've been hanging out with techy-types. Seriously, I find grammatical mistakes in my error messages all the time.

There are so many ways to say this. Most of them ungrammatically. But I Ihave heard everything. A few more variations.


It was me that did it.
I done it.
Sure, I done gone and did that, so what?

I hate to get into this discussion, Challenger, but you can't say that the phrase "It wasn't me" isn't normal in everyday speech. I know grammatically one should be hanged, but it is still quite normal.

Well, as soon as we get into what's "normal," everything gets very subjective. I propose a poll! Anyways, because of the very subjectivity of it, I don't think it's a good idea to indiscriminately sanction everything that's "normal," especially for use by non-native speakers. In some circles, DDT's "Sure, I done gone and did that" may be "normal," but I'm sure you wouldn't recommend this phrase to dear Olya.

P.S. I'm really not trying to be a self-appointed grammar hitman, только приходится

But the Russian text is Это я сделал (это).

"I did it" is simply, Я (это) сделал. Since the Russian is being specific, so should the English translation.

The subject of the sentence is "it".

It (subject) was me (object).

Lol, maybe I should be hanged.

I did it, it was me.

"I did it" would be an acceptable confession
