Thread: High ball shooter?

Anyone here who likes Deep Purple? Here’s the High ball shooter from The Stormbringer album
with some highlighted spots the meaning of which I’m not quite or entirely not sure of. Any suggestions?

You're a snow queen looking mean - a woman who looks uninviting, hard to approach. May also have a connotation of cocaine use.

Tryin' to make it on the scene - trying to be accepted in the rock and roll crowd, become a groupie.

I don't know what this means, sounds like some sort of vague sexual innuendo.

A magnet brought you to me - you were attracted to me, like by a magnet.

Told me your name was Jo - Jo is a female name.

I thought maybe the magnet was some well known character of that time, say a nickname of a musician, (he) told me that your name was Jo, where Jo was some Biblical figure. I understand now that when he sang Told me your name was Jo he meant You told me your name was Jo, did he?

You mean the ball that she shoots should be one of them there low ones, and high in High ball shooter is just good, i.e. she is a good ball shooter?

Deep Purple was English, maybe these ball terms (high, low, shooter) refer to something in England like snooker or cricket. When I say innuendo, it just leaves a vague impression that he was somehow referring to sex. I wouldn't venture to guess just exactly how.
