В выделенном фрагменте предложения имеется ввиду что за ее жизнью гонятся т.е. дословно: Там идет погоня за ее жизнью. Так?

Нет. to run for one's life значит "бежать, чтобы спасти свою жизнь (чтобы спастись от смерти)"

There is no sign of anything being worn ie it is not possible to see or otherwise detect that the article has been damaged or otherwise affected.
