While you can say "knifed in the heart", I think "stabbed in the heart" is a much more common way of saying this. If you want to make sure that your listeners understand the person was actually killed, you can say "was stabbed in the heart and died" or maybe "was stabbed to death in the heart" (the latter sounds a bit awkward to me, but it surely gets the idea across).

I think if you say "was stabbed in the heart," it's hard to imagine a scenario in which the victim didn't die.

Many people who are stabbed in the heart, or shot in the head for that matter survive.
