Well, they may have fooled you, but they didn't fool me - I can pronounce левый when I see it written down, thank you very much. I don't care where jeans were "invented", all I know is that since левый was invented in Russia, jeans most certainly are a Russian invention. And here's even more proof jeans were invented in Russia by a Russian - guess what the Russian for jeans is? Джинсы! Джинсы, ladies and gentlemen! You shamelessly borrowed (well, more like stole) the word from our language. What they did invent in the US is cowboy pants - ковбойские портки in Russian or cowboybukser in Danish. Is it my fault that you apparently can't tell jeans from cowboy pants?
