Кстати, слова "это", "этот", "эти", "эта" и т. д. пишутся через "э". ;)Quote:

The adverb "по-русски" is a hyphenated word. ;)Quote:

Leof: Yes, you were right. Well done. "I told you" is ok, but "I told you so" is more idiomatic.

В конечном итоге фамиля "Шарапов", вероятно, происшла от арабского имени "Шариф", которое означает "честный". Так называли потомков Магомета. Много татарских имена имеют арабские корни.
Sorry, this one is too hard to correct. Could you write in English what you meant? It could help.Quote:

Thanks for your correction it-ogo. I am glad someone was able to understand what I wanted to say. I am here to learn. If I could produce "correct text", I would not be here.
I don't know what your first language is, but "text without mistakes" or "writing free of errors" is more idiomatic than "correct text". "Correct" and "text" 'chime' with each other in a somewhat unpleasing way. The most natural thing to say is "Try not to make so many mistakes," but you would hardly ever hear that as it sounds patronising and a little rude.
Oops! I am sorry. I was in a hurry and my sentence was very inaccurate: I meant that below Itry to produce a corrected version of your text. Why did I miss pronoun "I" is a question. :( (Maybe because in Russian "Попытаюсь..." = "I'll try..." doesn't need pronoun.) What was a result really looks like an offence. Excuse me once more! I didn't really mean...Quote:

The Tatar, Dinara Safina and "наша Маша" may therefore have more in common than just tennis. As a musician, I was also interested to confirm what I had deduced for myself a while ago, that the surname of the composer Рахманинов comes from the Arabic word, rakhman meaning "benificent" (one of the 99 titles of God in Islam).
The well-known name, Yusupov (Prince Yusupov who killed Rasputin), is derived, according to one expert, from the Nogai language. I gather the Nogai are a Turkic people, sometimes known as the Caucasian Mongols, who are Islamic by faith. It seems to me the surname must be based on the Arabic name, Yusuf which in turn comes from the Hebrew, Joseph meaning "the Lord increases".

Имя "Светлана Кузнецова" по-английски: Lucy Smith. Lucy - из латинского "lux", "свет". И Мария Шарапова: Mary Lord или Mary Noble.
