    Keyboard techniques?

Privet! I am new to the Russian language, and halfway through the much-reccomended Pimsleur Russian I. I expect to continue using this program all through level 3, however as i'm sure you all know it does have the drawback of not being able to teach you spelling and writing skills.

I know the cyrillic alphabet, and have recently gotten my new laptop with the cyrillic keyboard enabled. I would like to get some practice on writing and spelling all these words that i'm learning.

Does anybody have any reccomendations for programs with cyrillic keyboard tests or something like that? I would like to participate in the forums here more using cyrillic, however i'm sure that if I tried right now even with the little Russian that I do now, the spelling would probably be so bad (i'd just be pretty much guessing) that it wouldn't be understandable at all.

MS word can check Russian spelling.
    Tools>Language>Choose Language... /choose Russian here/

    Keyboard skills

I'm using a program called Keyboard Tsar to teach me to touch-type in both English and Russian. It's easy fast and free!

I forget where I found it, Google should find it for you.

I cheat. I use a freeware keyboard program called "Russian for Gringos" that puts the Russian letters where I mostly expect them to be, so I don't have to memorize the йцукен keyboard. Here is my layout:
    яшертыуиопющэ
    асдфгчйкльж
    зхцвбнм,.́
С такой раскладкой клавиш могу писать быстро, без предварительного раздумья! Ее можно скачать прямо сейчас!

    А что значит «я шер»?

Или ласково так себя по-французски называет "дорогушей", или замаскированно другое слово. Какое - и так понятно. ))))
