Since you're mentioning the thread's title, it would be better to say "Someone replied to the thread "..." " or "Someone replied to a thread titled "..." ."
"The" is best used here because you have a specific object that you're referring to. You'd use "a" if there was more ambiguity.

It's not actually correct :P The bold font of the actual thread fills in for the quotes I suppose.
