Thread: Mobile Style Available

This forum has a new Mobile Style.

To change the style, find the drop-down menu in the very bottom of the page and change style to "Default Mobile Style".

I've tested it with "opera mobile" on a mobile phone with a touch screen.

The good points for the mobile-style are:

1. The user's info with avatar field is on the post's top (in full version it is on the left).

2. Quotation is nicely formatted with a colored box and the text within the quotation is not italicized by default (I'd like to have it for the full version too).

The bad points are:

1. The html page is not scalable any more (in the full version I can stretch it out with two fingers and get the text size as big as I need, with the mobile-style I can't change the size of the text by zooming it in or out)

2. Embedded video box's size is bigger than the size of the screen and I cant zoom it out also.

3. In the thread's list the whole box of the thread name's line is clickable causing blinking it with color while scrolling the list. Actually there is no any non-clickable area any more and scrolling the list became a fancy rainbow show.

4. Clicking a thread in the thread's list I can go to the first page only but not to the last page. Well, with the "silly questions" having 195 pages it makes me frustrated a little bit. (In the full version there are page boxes under the thread's title and I can pick up the last one immediately).

Can't this forum detect which OS/Browser am I currently using and switch the skins accordingly. So that when I come to the forum from a PC I would see a normal skin, but when I come from a mobile device I would see a lightened version?

It is users specific choice and should be stored in cookies, so if you selected it once it will keep for you the mobile-style while I would still prefer the full version.

I've made the changes. It should work now.

And I can confirm that it does. Much easier to access the forums using the phone now, nice job!

I can confirm too I tried it on iPod and Android phone.
