    I can't read what's on it except 'Coca Cola'. Or is that the joke?
    If so, it isn't that uncommon in Holland to make your own Cola... I've never tried it, but I've seen recipes...

    Don't worry Jasper .. I should have added the proviso that it probably isn't funny for non-Russians, or people who haven't been here..
    the point is that these 'банки' are often used to store домашний produce, especially vegetables and sauces and such like. You very often see them being sold at markets, and often varenye or some such made at the home of one of your friends, usually by babushka/i.
