Thread: A warning against internet translations

I was bored, so I decided to see what happens if you translate from English to Russian, then back again. Here is the result of my careful research:

In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the spirit of God moved upon the waters.

In to begin god it created the paradise and the earth. And the earth was without the form, and space otkrytyya; and the darkness was located on the side, they were which deep. And the spirit of god moved to the waters.

What's most disturbing is that it did not know how to translate a word which it chose itself.

Even better, a Stalin quote:

In the name of the constitution, Cromwell took up arms, executed the king, dissolved parliament, imprisoned some, and beheaded others.

In the name of constitution, Cromwell accepted the upward beheaded handles, completed to king, the dissolved parliament, zaklyuchinnye into tur'mu as certain and, etc.

Yea, that kind of crap happens alot, sometimes it will translate a word and it doesn't even know what it means. or... u get like 5 difrent definitions, and you go in big circles.

This is because all those progs and computers have no real mind, unlike humans. Until they have it, all the talks about "machine translation" will be just idle talks. I remember when I was a boy I read a book about computers, printed in 1971. There were a lot of stuff like this. Today nothing changed, only the speed of making this cr@p.
