I did a Google image search and it came up with a bunch of pictures of people bungee jumping, so that's most likely what it is.

    Cool!

Does "tarzanka" refer to the bungee cord or the activity itself?

    So, to clarify:

"bungee jumping" - to talk about it as a noun
"to bungee jump" - кататься на тарзанке(verb form)
"bungee jumper" - a person who often катается на тарзанке

I think "bungee cord" is an elastic rope, while "тарзанка" is usually a good olde rope, tied to a bough of a tree. It resembles lianas on wich Tarzan used to jump, hence the name.

    Она самая.
Тарзанка is a rope with a horizontal stick on one end, and the other end is tied to a thick branch of a tree.
It is often installed on a tree standing on the slope of a river bank (or lakeside) so that user can jump from the top of the slope holding the stick in hands, release the stick at the end of trajectory and fall into the water. Depending on how deep the water is and how drunk the user is, result can vary from enterntainment to death.

Tarzanking is money for old bungee cord.
