Your Russian sentence doesn't make any sense, because "прохладный" is never used figuratively in Russian as "cool" is used in English. You should have said one of these:

    классный, крутой, клёвый, чёткий

Or you could say "Этот форум рулит" (This forum rules.)

It won't be "cool" as such.

A friend of mine (she's like 15 or something) uses the work "prikol'no" and as I found that word...er....well, kinda "prikol'no" ( ), I also started using it. However, my Russian gf told me this word is mainly used by kids. Any native who could confirm that?

(Oh, I'm bad. Don't even trust my own gf! )

Prikol'no is teenager's slang. I'm 30 but I sometime use this when I talk to my close friends.
Прикол - fun, joke in teenager's slang
    Прикольно - funny, cool.

That is not true. You will hear "прикольно" and "прикол" even from those who are around 35. Perhaps she meant that slang is used more often by kids than by adults in Russia. You will barely hear any slang from older and retired people.

Right, it's quite possible to say so:
