    ьи sound

    Is the "и" in ульи pronounced the same as for example the final "и" произошли? In other words, what effect does the "ь" have on that final "и"?

    Pronounciation the same Ь affects only at the letter before it.

    Phonetically it is like "йи": "ульи" is pronounced like "ульйи".
    "Россия для русских" - это неправильно. Остальные-то чем лучше?

    The "ли" in "произошли" is [lee]. The "льи" in "ульи" is [lyee].
    In Russian, all nationalities and their corresponding languages start with a lower-case letter.
